Friday 15 Jan 2021: Passport for a 3000 year old mummy
In 1976, nearly 3000 years after his death, the remains of pharaoh Ramses II were issued with a passport by the Egyptian government for passage to France. The mummy had be transported to Paris for an irradiation treatment to prevent fungal growth, but French and Egyptian laws at the time required any person living or dead leaving the country to have a passport.
