| Traditionally Sinterklaas or Sint Nicolaas only had one helper, Zwarte Piet. When after the end of World War 2 the Canadian liberators helped to organise the traditional Dutch festivities, they decided that a lot of Zwarte Pieten was much more fun than one or two.
